Steampunk Self Portrait part 1

A li'l somethin' I'm working on.

The mouth is too high and will be fixed.

The background was made with acrylic paints.
Lots of splattering, dripping, and dry brushing.

We were required to do self portraits on grungy backgrounds in 2D design, so I started drawing mine based on a photograph we had taken of me earlier.

I was having trouble with the eyes, so I raised my hand.

My teacher came around and looked at it.
"You know, that background would be perfect for a steampunk theme."
"...FFFFF."

So that's how that went.

Right now, it's at the "let's draw down every idea" stage. I'll be painting it later, so it'll probably end up looking a lot different. But I thought I'd show you guys that I actually am working.
